2015 – Upgrade Your Look
Bring on the New Years Resolutions, Affirmations, Goals, etc. It’s 2015 (holy crap it’s January) and while many will take on some sort of dieting/weight loss benchmark, we would also like to remind you that looking good isn’t just about what weight you are. Don’t forget your makeup and HAIR obviously have a huge impact on the way you look and ultimately feel about yourself. We at Mane Interest believe there is at the very least a correlation if not a direct relationship between having a gorgeous mane and an increase in confidence. No, we don’t have some scientific study to back up this statement, but whatever, do we really need one? Take care of yourself and your hair and find out for yourself if you feel better.
To start of 2015 with some appropriate inspiration, here’s a refreshing before and after by hair stylist Marnie, based out of The Fox and The Hair Salon in Wollongong, Australia. Before was over processed and just, well, bad. After is so much better – shiny, healthy, and gorgeous.
Dimensional Blonde
You want a natural looking color, but you don’t want your natural color, per se. Ask your colorist to blend in highlights with your own natural base, and don’t let them go more than 2-3 levels higher than your natural shade. Not only will you end up with a dimensional hue, but you’ll get the longest wear out of the color as it grows out.
A lovely before and after example of this was done by Erin McKay, based out of the 901 Salon in Los Angeles.
Before & After: Ombre Color Save
Thanks to the internet and entertainment shows, by now we have all seen a disastrous ombre color job on a celeb or two. If this before and after doesn’t convince you to make sure your color is done by a professional, then what will?
This amazing before and after hair color correction was done by Christina Gunnell, based out of Habit Salon in Gilbert, Arizona.
